The board of advisors of the Lee County Community Foundation is pleased to announce the establishment of the Holzwarth Family Endowment, according to Oliver Crawley, board president.

The new fund will benefit three local nonprofit organizations: the Jonesboro United Methodist Church, the Christian United Outreach Center and the Salvation Army Sanford Service Center. Each of these organizations will receive annual grants from the Holzwarth Family Endowment in perpetuity.

In addition, the Holzwarth family also made a generous contribution to the Lee County Community Foundations community grantmaking fund. The gift will enable the LCCF to double amounts granted to local nonprofits serving Lee County beginning in 2018.

Crawley said the gifts to the community were made possible by the generosity of Frances Holzwarth and her sister, Beatrice Kriegbaum. Through their generosity, Lee County nonprofits will benefit from the legacy of their gift through the community grantmaking of the Lee County Community Foundation forever.

The Lee County Community Foundation is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation. LCCFs community grantmaking fund was established to support local charitable needs through annual grants. In addition to Crawley, other board members include: Dargan Moore (vice president), Mikeal Basinger (secretary), Larry Aiken, Wilson Cox, Jan Hayes, Jasmine Lucas, Bob McCall, John Ramsperger and Sharon Spence.
