Beaufort-Hyde Community Foundation awards more than $1,400 in local grants

The board of advisors of the Beaufort-Hyde Community Foundation announces $1,440 in local grant awards from its community grantmaking fund, according to Beth Wilder, board president.

 

This year’s nonprofit recipients include:

  • $720 to Albemarle Commission Senior Nutrition Program for Meals on Wheels- Hyde County
  • $720 to Open Door Community Center for general operating support

Dot Moate, Open Door Community Center director, said “Thank you so much for the grant to the Open Door Community Center shelter for women and children. We anticipate opening somewhere in early 2018.”

Wilder thanked the community for its support of the Beaufort-Hyde Community Foundation. “These grants are important to our community and our quality of life,” she said. “Critical programs would not be possible without the generosity of many individuals and organizations that have supported the Beaufort-Hyde community grantmaking fund.”
