Bratton and Sharma named to NC Community Foundation statewide board of directors

The North Carolina Community Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of John Bratton and Madhu Sharma to the statewide board of directors, according to James Black, board chair.

 

Bratton serves as chairman of Wake Stone Corporation, a family business with five locations in North and South Carolina. He serves as chair of the board of trustees of Historic Oakwood Cemetery and has served on various industry trade organization boards, the NC Mining Commission, Saint Mary’s School Board of Trustees. He attended UNC Chapel Hill and NC State.
 
Sharma is an executive coach, published author and serves as president of the Triangle Interfaith Alliance. She has served on several nonprofit boards, including the Heritage Fund, a community foundation in Indiana. She holds a Degree in chemical engineering from NC State and a master’s of social work from the University of Iowa.
 
NCCF CEO and President Jennifer Tolle Whiteside said she was looking forward to working with the new board members. “John and Madhu are exemplary executives who bring a wealth of knowledge to our board through their business experience as well as their community leadership,” she said. “They will be true assets to our board – and to our state.”
