Chowan Community Funds Foundation awards more than $17,000 in local grants

The board of advisors of the Chowan Community Funds Foundation announces $17,280 in local awards from its community grantmaking fund, according to Katharine Farless, board president.
 
 
This year the board will grant:
  • $2,000 to the Albemarle Commission Senior Nutrition Program for the Meals on Wheels program
  • $500 to Albemarle Hopeline for general operating support
  • $2,280 to the Boys & Girls Club of Edenton/Chowan County for junior staff
  • $2,000 to Caregiver's Day Out, Inc. for general operating support
  • $2,000 to the Chowan/Perquimans Smart Start Partnership for the Reach Out and Read program
  • $1,000 to the Dream Hunt & Fishing Program for general operating support
  • $1,000 to the Edenton Farmers Market for the Educational Path to Healthier Residents in Northeastern North Carolina program
  • $3,000 to the Edenton-Chowan Food Pantry for the Book Bag Buddies program
  • $1,500 to Kids First, Inc. for the Child Abuse Treatment project
  • $2,000 to Special Olympics North Carolina for Special Olympics North Carolina - Chowan County
