UNC School of the Arts for Catawba County Fund awards more than $14,000 in local grants

The board of advisors of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts for Catawba County Fund announces $14,190 in local grant awards, according to Sally Fanjoy, committee chair.

 
  • $7,590 to UNC School of the Arts for scholarships to Catawba County students

  • $6,000 to the Western Piedmont Symphony for fee assistance for UNCSA student engagement

  • $600 to the United Arts Council for the UNCSA Edna Bost Barringer Young Artist Award judges

Fanjoy thanked the community for its support of the UNC School of the Arts for Catawba County Fund. “These grants are important to our community and our quality of life,” she said. “Critical programs would not be possible without the generosity of many individuals and organizations that have supported the fund.”

The UNC School of the Arts for Catawba County is a fund of the Catawba Valley Community Foundation. The fund was created to offer scholarships and support to Catawba County students attending the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. In addition to Fanjoy, board members include: Phil Barringer, Meredith Carlone, John Coffey, Kimberly George, Connie Kincaid and Margie Owsley.
