The Foundation brought on Munroe and Bryant to fill two open seats after former Trustee John M. McNairy transitioned off the Board in November 2017 and Stephen L. Neal became a Lifetime Trustee in November 2014.

For more than 30 years, Angela Bryant, of Rocky Mount, has worked as a diversity and organizational development consultant affiliated with VISIONS Inc., a nonprofit organization that she co-founded. In March 2018, Bryant was appointed to the Post-Release Supervision and Parole Commission by Governor Roy Cooper. Bryant served six years in the NC House of Representatives and more than five years in the NC State Senate. Bryant served as the 2017-2018 chair of the NC Legislative Black Caucus and was also a former member of the Rocky Mount City Council. Bryant began her career as an attorney in general practice, and then became a deputy commissioner of the North Carolina Industrial Commission and an administrative law judge with the Office of Administrative Hearings. She has also served on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Board of Trustees and the Board of Governors for the University of North Carolina System. Bryant earned her Bachelor of Science in Math and a Juris Doctorate in Law at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Anna Warburton Munroe, of Winston-Salem, is an attorney with Allman Spry Davis Leggett & Crumpler, P.A., where she concentrates her practice solely in family law. Munroe currently sits on the boards of Reynolda House and the Forsyth Humane Society and is a member of the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation’s Community Leadership Council. Munroe graduated from Wake Forest University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Minors in English and International Studies. She returned to Wake Forest University and graduated from the School of Law in 2009.
