Asheville, NC – Western Carolina Medical Society (WCMS) and Project Access® are pleased to announce a new mobile vaccine initiative to address health inequities in COVID 19 vaccine distribution. The WCMS Mobile Vaccine Clinic Collaborative will enable WCMS to bring COVID vaccine clinics to where people live to reach historically marginalized communities. WCMS is working with partners including Centro Unido Latino Américano (CULA), True Ridge, Compañeros Inmigrantes de las Montañas en Acción (CIMA), Asheville Buncombe Institute for Parity Achievement (ABIPA), Blue Ridge Community Health Services and Dale Fell Health Center to address some of the barriers keeping people from accessing the COVID vaccine. This work is supported by an $80,000 grant from Dogwood Health Trust.
