The Foundation for a Healthy High Point awards Fall Traditional and Fluid Strategic Investment Grants to 11 Non-Profits

High Point, N.C. — On December 2, 2020 the Board of Directors for the Foundation for a Healthy High Point — a private foundation that invests in the advancement of health and wellness for High Point residents — approved a total of $572,180 in grants to local non-profits. $467,905 was approved for the Fall Traditional Grants Program, and $104,275 was approved for the fourth quarter Fluid Strategic Investment, or COVID-19 Relief Grants program. Approximately 30% of the Traditional Grants were awarded to support behavioral health services, and 36% were awarded to support the Healthy Beginnings Initiative.

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Applications are currently being accepted for the 2021 Forsyth County Teacher Grants, awarded by The Winston-Salem Foundation for professional development to PK-12th grade educators in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools.

Golden LEAF Board awards $2.4M in funding, elects board officers and committee chairs, works on development of strategic plan

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C., (December 3, 2020) – Today, the Golden LEAF Board of Directors awarded more than $2.4 million in funding to support agriculture, economic development, entrepreneurship, capacity building, and disaster recovery through projects across North Carolina. The Board also heard from its strategic planning consultants on the results of outreach and data gathering efforts launched over the summer. The Board is expected to adopt a strategic plan in the first quarter of 2021.

Triangle Community Foundation Awards $280,000 to 28 Local Nonprofit Organizations Focused on Education & Youth

Research Triangle Park, November 23, 2020: Triangle Community Foundation has awarded $280,000 to 28 local nonprofit organizations as part of their Education and Youth Impact Area. Each organization will receive $10,000 in general operating funds to support their work with youth ages 5-24 in the community in 2021.

Dogwood Health Trust Awards More Than $2.8 Million in Racial Equity Community Grants to 130 Organizations in Western North Carolina

Asheville, N.C. – Dogwood Health Trust has awarded more than $2.8 million in Racial Equity Community Grants to a diverse range of 130 nonprofit and government agencies from every county and the Qualla Boundary in Western North Carolina. Dogwood exceeded its original funding goal of $1 million, funding 65% of requests, with the average award amount totaling $21,884.

The Women’s Fund of Winston-Salem Announces New Research Report and 2020 Grant Recipients

On Tuesday, November 17, The Women’s Fund of Winston-Salem held its 15^th Annual Luncheon entitled, “Where Do We Go from Here?” where more than 200 members and friends of the Fund gathered in a virtual format to celebrate the power of philanthropy dedicated to women and girls. With a mission to build economic security for women and girls in Forsyth County, members of The Women’s Fund come together to advance equity through the power of collective giving.

$100,000 Grant Awarded to Dress for Success Triangle as Part of Triangle Community Foundation’s Women THRIVE project.

Research Triangle Park, November 18, 2020: Triangle Community Foundation has announced a $100,000 grant, awarded to local nonprofit organization Dress for Success Triangle, as part of their Women THRIVE project, to begin the implementation of a pilot program that focuses on workforce development for low-income single mothers in SE Raleigh and East Durham. This funding supports the program’s commitment to partnership with Triangle-area organizations providing critical services to low-income women, and will support current and new programming, evaluation, and technology adaptation during the COVID-19 pandemic.
