Frequently Asked Questions

Below are a few questions we receive regularly - if you have a question beyond what is included below, please feel free to contact us.

  • How can NCNG help my foundation?
  • We are, first and foremost, a network of foundations, so the first way we can help is to connect you to your grantmaking peers in the state. We can help you find funders with shared interests, connect you to staff or board members who have a particular expertise or knowledge in a community - and we're always available to talk shop.

We also offer dozens of programs each year to help you learn best practices, share with one another, and connect to local and national resources.

And, we hope that you will call us if ever you run into a challenge - we have access to resources and knowledge throughout the philanthropic sector that might be helpful.

  • Can my nonprofit become a member of NCNG?
  • Membership in NCNG is limited to grantmaking organizations that award charitable grants in North Carolina. Typically, these are private, community, or family foundations, or corporate giving programs. If you think your organization might be eligible for membership, please feel free to contact us.

  • Will NCNG help me find grant dollars for my nonprofit?
  • We do not connect nonprofits to grantmakers and cannot make suggestions of foundations that might fund your organization.

  • Can I attend NCNG's Annual Meeting and Conference or other events?
  • The NCNG Annual Meeting and Conference is open to member and non-member grantmaking organizations. Most other NCNG events are open only to current members. However, if you represent a grantmaking organization that funds in North Carolina, please feel free to contact us to see if you are eligible for membership or to attend a meeting as a guest.
