Philanthropy Voter Engagement Toolkit Briefing

Join United Philanthropy Forum and Nonprofit Vote for a briefing on philanthropic support for voter engagement efforts. Taking place on December 4th, the webinar will feature the release of Nonprofit Vote’s newest edition of a voter engagement toolkit for foundations.

The 2024 election is just around the corner, and foundations across the country are exploring ways to support their communities to participate in the upcoming election. Nonprofit Vote is releasing the second edition of the Philanthropy for Voter Engagement Toolkit, which will include tips, best practices, and case studies for foundations to explore voter engagement.

This webinar – designed for Forum members and their members, nonprofits, and foundation leaders – will feature this new toolkit and panelists who will help demystify, offer specific examples, and answer questions about ways private and community foundations can support and bolster voter engagement in their communities.

Capacity Building Champions Learning Community

Join us for a two-part session! In the first hour, we'll have Liz Mileshkofrom Resilia facilitating a conversation with Chiquita Board, Vice President and Director of Regional Programming at the Truist Foundation, and Weyling White, Executive Director of Care Share Health, on the topics of investing in and leveraging technology for grassroots organizations.

If you can stay with us afterward, we'll continue hanging out on Zoom until 12:30 PM, providing an opportunity to network and reintroduce ourselves since our last meeting. Note: Resilia is an NCNG sponsor with a lot of expertise in the area of capacity building.

Nonprofit Policy Update

There's been a lot going on this year in Raleigh and Washington D.C. that affects the work of nonprofits, foundations, and the communities they serve. Many of the policy changes that have happened at the federal and state levels this year – and several that are still under consideration the remainder of the year and in 2024 – deeply affect nonprofits and their clients. Join us for an update from the North Carolina Center for Nonprofits to hear the latest on major policy issues like Medicaid expansion and outreach, investment in public education, the state and federal budgets, and state tax policy decisions. You will also learn about lower profile laws and regulations that could have a major impact on nonprofits and foundations like changes to charitable solicitation laws, an increased salary threshold for overtime pay for nonprofit/foundation employees, limitations on certain training programs on topics of race, and proposed federal grants rules.
