The pandemic has taken a toll on students, with new data showing that fewer than half of North Carolina’s K-12 children and youth passed end-of-year reading, math and science exams for the 2020-2021 school year. Join us at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 13, to learn more about these results and the state’s plans to help students get back up to speed. We’ll be joined by Michael Maher, Executive Director of the Office of Learning Recovery and Acceleration at the N.C. Department of Public Instruction, and his colleague Jeni Corn, Director of Research and Evaluation. We’ll also hear from a community group about the very real challenges students and families faced while learning during a pandemic.
