Join your NCNG colleagues for a conversation on funding practices that support rural community organizations led by and serving communities of color and low income communities. We’ll hear from Kathleen Marks and Monica McCann from Resourceful Communities (a program of The Conservation Fund), who developed a report of reflections and recommendations, based on their experience distributing ~$3.3 million in COVID-relief grants to rural communities and their work to support communities through capacity building, small grants, and a network of grassroots partners. The report offers powerful insights on how to most effectively support rural community- and faith-based groups and encourages funders to consider new practices and innovative ways to benefit rural parts of our state. In this session, we’ll learn more about these recommendations, and hope you will come ready to share your experiences and ideas, too!
And for those in the Emerging Leaders Learning Community (or others who want to stop in!) we hope you will join us for some informal networking and discussion after the session beginning at 11:10 AM.
