Program Manager

The Program Manager will serve as a statewide resource for Foundation projects and programs. The Program Manager will provide oversight for Foundation Educational Programs and help support other Foundation staff with the daily operational, promotional, and fiscal responsibilities of the Foundation.

Dimensions:

• Serve as the primary liaison with non-profit organizations, the general public, branch and operations employees, and management-level employees in other branches and departments for all Foundation Education programs.
• Provide administration and management of Foundation programs including scholarships and internships. Involves planning, tracking, scheduling and maintenance of Foundation materials, databases, files, and correspondence, and aiding in the distribution of information.
• Work directly with other Foundation staff to support the integrity of the Foundation’s functions; to ensure all departmental and organizational goals and deadlines are met in a timely manner.
• Must be able to work both independently with minimal supervision and as a member of a team.
• Respond to inquiries from non-profit organizations and SECU branches/departments regarding Foundation projects and programs.
• Coordinate and facilitate Foundation functions.
• Responsible for highly confidential information.
• Additional responsibility as assigned.


Duties:

• Must be knowledgeable and promote all areas of the Foundation to branch and operations personnel as well as the public.
• Monitor, manage, and document scholarship programs, including serving as a direct contact with LEA’s, high schools, community colleges and universities to ensure proper payments are made and procedural questions are answered.
• Understand software utilized in the department to develop and maintain Foundation databases and correspondence.
• Maintenance of Foundation databases, public documents, forms and website to ensure information is accurate.
• Maintaining and developing electronic files and other correspondence in shared locations. 
• Apply knowledge to collect, measure, and analyze data to provide analysis and reporting.
• Develop professional graphs, reports, and presentations to report results of analysis.
• Correspondence and coordination of duties with internal departments providing support functions to the Foundation.
• Answering email and phone correspondence regarding scholarship programs, grant-making application process, etc.
• Maintain knowledge of current trends in the industry to advise of changes and provide recommendations for program adjustments or modifications as needed
• Coordination of press releases, media events and presentations.
• Participate in meetings and in SECU member outreach as requested.
• Provide regular updates to Management on program activities.
• Must be able to drive and willing to travel as requested by management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS:

Experience - Foundation or scholarship management experience preferred, including experience with project or program management. Should be comfortable networking, building cross-cultural relationships, and interacting with public charities and government organizations.
Education - Must have a four-year degree, CCUE Certification, or an Associate of Arts degree or Associate of Science degree via the North Carolina College Transfer Program (NC-CTP) requirements.

• Must be capable of representing SECU Foundation when needed for training, meetings, onsite support, etc.
• Candidates will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills - telephone, email and personal communication
• Must be very well-organized, professional, resourceful, and have a willingness to help others.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required; knowledge of Microsoft Access preferred.
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and pay attention to accuracy and detail.
• Must be willing to learn about the issues that impact North Carolinians in Foundation focus areas with particular attention to Education and be open to new ideas.
• Knowledge of SECU policies and procedures is required.
• Must be able to speak English fluently.
• Must be able to cooperate and collaborate with co-workers, and be cordial in all interactions with members, co-workers and general public.
• Must adhere to the work schedule and attendance policy established by manager and be willing to work a flexible schedule when appropriate.
• Must complete the Credit Union’s Basic Module Program requirements within 24 months of hire date as a condition of employment 
• Neat, professional appearance.
 

JOB ENVIRONMENT:

Office setting with physical proximity to other employees. Some background noise from other employees, copy machine, and telephone. Fast-paced environment that requires multi-tasking to be successful.

• Must be able to comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions.
• Job requires a substantial amount of sitting.
• Use of hands and fingers to press keys on a computer keyboard to enter or retrieve information.
• Use of hands and fingers to press telephone key pad and lift telephone receiver.
• Must be able to comprehend phone calls.
• Must be able to drive and travel as needed.
• Must be able to lift 5-10 pounds
