Communications Manager

The Impact Alamance Communications manager is charge of producing high-quality content that engages customers and builds brand recognition of the foundation and its priority funding areas.

The main duties will also include creating informative content, press releases, articles, and media opportunities to share brand, products, and services. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, with brilliant technical, presentation and organizational skills.
Job description:


  • Create a communication strategy with objectives that will measurably impact the Foundation?s overall funding priorities, based on the above tasks.
  • Create and regularly post content for the Foundation website and social media channels.
  • Increase understanding and recognition of Foundation mission, programs, resources and initiatives through the development of social media accounts and engagement across relevant platforms.
  • Create informative and interesting newsletters, press releases, annual reports, invitations, posters, banners, and other materials as needed.
  • Facilitate relationships and communicate technical information to creative freelancers for special projects.
  • Maintain effective and efficient administrative systems for communication work, including a system for tracking the Foundation impact on annual and long-term goals.
  • Responsible for writing, producing, filming, editing and working with outside vendors to create video content for digital and social media platforms
  • Develop and steward key relationships in local and North Carolina education, health and philanthropic communities.


Required: Bachelors Degree in Communications, Journalism or related field.

Preferred: Masters Degree
Required: 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.

Preferred: 5-7 years experience in a non-profit, foundation or related sector.

Valid Driver's License | Valid Driver's License
