This position is responsible for the following:
Development & Donor Engagement
- Receive and respond to initial inquiries from individuals, families, nonprofit agencies, or businesses about giving to or through the Foundation, setting up a fund, or supporting the Foundation’s programs.
- Support initial welcome communications with new donors in advance and as part of donor orientation. Ensure thorough and consistent onboarding of donors and activation of funds.
- Oversee and implement process steps for all gift and fund creation activities.
- Track new fund prospects from among general inquiries, specifically for cultivation opportunities such as Foundation events and for reporting purposes.
- Receive and triage inquiries about gifts of complex assets, such as real estate and business interests, or legacy gifts contemplated through estate planning.
- Attend and represent the Foundation at community events and professional gatherings.
Team Administration
- Support data management and strategy efforts, including:
- Manage fund and donor lists.
- Perform fund administration in CSuite database, including overseeing, tracking, and updating profiles.
- Maintain professional advisor profiles and track legacy gift activity within the Foundation’s database.
- Oversee paper files and digitize records.
- Manage internal documentation.
- Data entry.
- Provide project support for inter-departmental projects, including:
- Support Community Engagement team in fundraising efforts.
- Track recommendations from Foundation staff to donors.
- Manage Development database projects, including:
- Organize and clean up profiles.
- Verify historical records.
- Digitize files.
- Assist in managing logistics of Development and Donor Engagement functions, such as event coordination, invitations, and materials as needed.
Work with Senior Development Officer and other Foundation staff to update published versions of fund agreements, guidelines, and related administrative forms.

QUALIFICATIONS [CA1]
- Commitment to the Foundation's goals, values, and mission.
- Familiarity with the Triangle region, its issues, organizations, people, and resources.
- Prior development experience preferred.
- College degree required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Strong data management skills: Experience with CRM databases, Microsoft Office Suite and spreadsheet proficiency preferred.
- Available to attend some events on nights and weekends.
- Ability to interact well with diverse populations and constituencies with excellent relationship-building, listening, and facilitation skills.
- High degree of professionalism, integrity, and warmth.
- Ability and willingness to work closely with other colleagues as a team.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with a customer service orientation.
- Detail-oriented with strong research and analytical skills.
- Willingness to work flexibly within a hybrid work environment and to adjust activities and priorities and take on new responsibilities.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- The salary range for this position is $47,000-$52,000.
- Benefits include health insurance (medical, HSA, HRA), dental insurance, retirement plan and contributions, wellness benefit, and generous PTO.
