Director of Corporate and Community Outreach

Our client, an industry-leading, family-run company, is seeking an experienced Director of Corporate and Community Outreach to serve as the overseer of their exceptional charitable foundation.  Reporting to the CEO and President, this remarkable role will lead the company's effort to engage both employees and the community through setting a strategic vision, while putting programs in place and taking appropriate actions to ensure the foundation’s goals, objectives and initiatives are met that align with the admirable mission, vision and values of the company.

Job description:

Key Responsibilities Director of Corporate and Community Outreach:

  • Foundation Oversight
    • Oversee all foundation operations, putting systems in place where necessary, and work with Board to set/update the strategic vision for the foundation
    • Evaluate past giving and make recommendations to enhance impact and increase SROI
    • Perform due diligence and serves as the primary POC for nonprofit partners/grantees
    • Perform check-ins with grantees, track progress and evaluate for sustainability
    • Represent the foundation, attending networking and community events, stays abreast of industry trends, builds funder collaboration
    • Advise family on personal philanthropy
  • Employee Engagement:
    • Lead further development and enhancement of employee engagement offerings.
    • Design and launch new programs, stewarding them at inception
    • Work in an advisory capacity with HR personnel to put systems in place and implement programs
  • Community Engagement:
    • Oversee corporate sponsorship and charitable contributions. Work with executive leadership to set a strategic vision
    • Coordinate with VPs to set an annual budget and process requests 
    • Form and maintain strategic partnerships with several key nonprofits
  • Corporate Responsibility:
    • Work with senior leadership to lead the continued development of the company's overarching corporate responsibility strategy
    • Analyze and evaluate effectiveness and make iterations as necessary
    • Work with Communications staff to produce internal and external reporting.

Job Requirements and Competencies

  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree required with major in Business or related field
    • Graduate degree preferred. MBA preferred
  • Experience
    • 5+ years' experience in corporate philanthropy or equivalent preferred
