Dogwood Health Trust Announces Search for Next CEO

Asheville, N.C. – Dogwood Health Trust announced today that it has begun the process for selecting its next Chief Executive Officer. The foundation has had an interim CEO in place since December 2020. Dogwood’s Board of Directors recently appointed a search committee whose members include Directors: Jacqueline Godlock (Rutherford), Dawna Goode-Ledbetter (McDowell), Bishop Jose McLoughlin (Henderson), and Jaquelyne Simms (Buncombe). Martha Tyner (Yancey) and Casey Cooper (Qualla Boundary) will serve as co-chairs, and Board Chair Janice Brumit will serve in an ex officio role.

Black Philanthropy Initiative Requests Proposals for Fall Inclusive Economy Grants Program

The Black Philanthropy Initiative (BPI) is now accepting applications for its new Inclusive Economy grants program. For this grant cycle, BPI requests proposals that will build economic empowerment for Black households. BPI’s goal is to make Forsyth County a place where all have the resources needed to support their families. Organizations can apply for grants of up to $15,000.

Golden LEAF announces new SITE Program

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C., (September 23, 2021) – Today, the Golden LEAF Foundation announced the launch of the new Golden LEAF SITE Program. The program will help communities identify potential industrial sites for economic development, complete the due diligence necessary to prepare sites for industrial development, and extend public utilities to or conduct rough grading and clearing of sites for which due diligence has been completed.

Golden LEAF awards $45.8 million to support economic development projects in 34 counties in Fiscal Year 2021

Each year, the Golden LEAF Foundation reviews the impact made through its funding programs. Dr. Ereka Williams Joins Dogwood Health Trust as Vice President of Impact - Education

Asheville, N.C. – Dogwood Health Trust is pleased to announce that native North Carolinian Ereka R. Williams, PhD,will be joining its team as Vice President of Impact for Education on November 1. SECU Foundation Celebrates Groundbreaking for SECU DinoLab at NC Museum of Natural Sciences

RALEIGH, N.C., Sept. 13, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The preserved skeletons of two well-known dinosaur species acquired by the Friends of the NC Museum of Natural Sciences will soon have a new home at the SECU DinoLab! A groundbreaking ceremony held at the Museum’s Nature Research Center in downtown Raleigh kicked off the construction of the paleontology conservation lab for the Dueling Dinosaurs exhibit featuring a Tyrannosaurus rex and Triceratops. During the event, SECU Foundation announced its support for the initiative with a $2 million challenge grant to the Friends of the NC Museum of Natural Sciences.

The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina Approved Grants totaling $107,500 for Flood Relief

September 1: The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina (CFWNC) approved five grants totaling $107,500 from its Emergency and Disaster Response Fund to nonprofits addressing response and relief efforts in counties significantly affected by the recent floods. The grants support frontline nonprofits meeting immediate needs or those whose ability to provide services was directly affected by the floods. Nonprofits use a simple, expedited process to access funds with grants awarded on a rolling basis.
