Immigrant-led Collaborative Awarded $308,000 Grant for Equity in Health for Immigrant Communities in Western North Carolina

Asheville, N.C. — Hola Carolina, is pleased to announce that it has received a grant to support Equity in Health for Immigrant Communities in Western North Carolina from the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The project will improve the lives of our local immigrant communities by supporting our immigrant-led collaborative to come together and build on each other’s strengths to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has disproportionately impacted immigrant communities across WNC.

Dogwood Health Trust Shares Mid-Year Report, Announces Virtual Community Meetings

Asheville, N.C. – Dogwood Health Trust announced today the release of its Mid-Year Impact Report, as well as an invitation to the community to attend its upcoming virtual community meetings this September. Dogwood Health Trust issued its first-ever Annual Report in December 2020, sharing 2019 financial statements and an overview of estimated grantmaking for the year 2020. Dogwood plans to share another annual report at the end of 2021, but is utilizing this report to provide a brief, mid-year update of 2021 activities amidst a year of recovery.

CFWNC and Dogwood Health Trust Partner to Support Flood Relief

The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina (CFWNC) has activated and allocated resources to its Emergency and Disaster Response Fund to accept and disburse funds supporting regional flood relief with a focus on counties and communities most severely affected. Dogwood Health Trust has made a lead gift to ensure that nonprofits can access funds for the critical early response.

The Race is On | WNC Bridge Foundation 5th Annual Dragon Boat Race Fundraiser

Arden, NC: The Race is on! WNC Bridge Foundation’s premier fundraising event, Drums & Dragons, is in its final week preparing for the live race at Lake Julian Park on Saturday, August 28th! Locally Produced PBS Series David Holt's State of Music Receives Grant from the Community Foundation of Henderson County

Golden LEAF announces $655,000 in awards, hears from N.C. State University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Dean Richard Linton

SECU Foundation Grant Helps UNC School of Government Fund LFNC Fellowships

Raleigh, N.C. – In 2019, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Government received a grant from SECU Foundation to help launch a cohort pilot called Lead for North Carolina (LFNC), a post-graduate fellowship program. This week, SECU Foundation announced its renewed support for the successful program with a grant for $1 million. The increased funding will enable the UNC School of Government to place up to 50 SECU Fellows in paid local government fellowships over a three-year period
