Black Philanthropy Initiative Requests 2019 Grant Proposals

4/16/2019
The Black Philanthropy Initiative (BPI) of The Winston-Salem Foundation is now accepting grant proposals for its 2019 grant cycle. Through engagement and encouragement, BPI educates people to utilize their philanthropic strengths of time, talent and treasure to impact meaningful change and address identified needs in the black community.

BPI’s grant program has a primary focus on Advancing Racial Equity in Education – specifically post-secondary education pathways, talent and workforce development and career advancement. Nonprofit organizations serving the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County area that seek to enhance their current programs or those planning to implement new programming serving the Black community in these areas are encouraged to apply. The Black Philanthropy Initiative will make grants in amounts of up to $5,000.

How to apply: The 2019 Grant Guidelines and application are available on the Winston-Salem Foundation website at www.wsfoundation.org/strategic-initiatives/black-philanthropy-initiative. All applications are due by 5:00 p.m. on May 15th, 2019.

An Applicant Information Workshop about BPI’s grant application process is scheduled for Monday, April 29th, 2019, 6:00-7:00 pm and will take place at The Winston-Salem Foundation, Neil Boardroom, 3rd Floor, 751 West Fourth St. You do not need to attend a workshop to apply; however, the workshop will provide an overview of the guidelines and provide an opportunity to ask questions about the guidelines and the application process.
