Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro Establishes East Greensboro Tornado Relief Fund

This is a difficult time in Greensboro. Yesterday, a tornado killed at least one person and caused significant destruction to homes, businesses, and schools in eastern Greensboro. To help provide support to those impacted by the tornado, the Community Foundation created the East Greensboro Tornado Relief Fund and made an initial $10,000 contribution to it. We will coordinate grants from this fund with guidance from the City of Greensboro and the United Way of Greater Greensboro.

Greensboro Housing Coalition is accepting donations of bottled water, non-perishable food, and tarps to disperse in the community. They are at their collaborative Cottage Grove Office at 2208 Everitt street working to coordinate efforts with partners.
