Holding named North Carolina Community Foundation director of development

6/13/2019
Kathryn Roebuck Holding has been named the North Carolina Community Foundation director of development, joining the executive team of the statewide foundation, according to Jennifer Tolle Whiteside, NCCF CEO and president.

Holding leads the statewide development team in philanthropic fund establishment and growth services, including estate and planned giving. Her leadership plays a critical role in the Foundation’s focus on building and growing philanthropic assets throughout North Carolina. She works to spread the word about the benefits of establishing a charitable fund with NCCF by developing relationships with professional advisors, individuals, businesses, other foundations and nonprofit organizations.

Under Holding, the Foundation now has a local development officer serving every region of the state, with the northern piedmont, sandhills and coastal plain north regions served directly by her; the northwest and west served by Megan Lynch Ellis; and the southeast, northeast and coastal plain south served by Beth Boney Jenkins.

Holding is a native of Elizabeth City, received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was a recipient of the Morehead-Cain Scholarship, and received a juris doctor from Wake Forest University. She is a licensed attorney in the state of North Carolina and practiced law in Wilmington for several years. Immediately before joining the Foundation, she served as the Director of Development & Communications at Alliance Medical Ministry, a Wake County nonprofit health care provider. Kathryn lives in Raleigh with her husband Will, and daughters Grace and Elizabeth.

The Foundation could not be more excited about what Kathryn brings to her role, according to Tolle Whiteside. “Kathryn is a leader with a passion for rural North Carolina and a strategic mind and vision for development that will serve our fundholders, endowments and communities across the state well,” she said. “We’re so happy to have her join our team.”
