Longleaf Fund Announces 2020 Grant Cycle

CHARLOTTE – Foundation For The Carolinas has announced the opening of the 2020 Longleaf Fund grant cycle, awarding capital grants in select cities in North and South Carolina. FFTC is currently accepting applications from organizations in and serving Fayetteville, Rocky Mount and Charlotte, NC, and Spartanburg and Florence, SC.

In collaboration with nonprofit partners, Longleaf Fund grants aim to strengthen the character and achievement of at-risk children and youth while encouraging communities to reach higher and create opportunities for a brighter future.
Capital grants will be awarded from $10,000 to $150,000 to organizations serving at-risk children and youth for the following:

Projects that build community and increase daily physical activity by building or enhancing age-appropriate, accessible space for play, sports and recreational activities.
Projects that promote learning, especially for at-risk youth, with a particular emphasis on creating or improving access to technology.
Projects that enhance the quality of life for children, ages 0-18, with disabilities (physical and/or mental) by improving their educational or physical environment and developing the children’s physical capabilities.

The Longleaf Fund is an anonymous donor advised fund managed by Foundation For The Carolinas, the community foundation serving the greater Charlotte region. Eligible projects must be scheduled for completion within 12-18 months from grant award date to be considered for a 2020 grant.
