Montgomery County Fund awards more than $28,000 in local grants

The board of advisors of the Montgomery County Fund recently announced $28,810 in local grant awards from its community grantmaking fund, according to Sharon Matheny, board president.
 
 
This year the board granted to:
  • Montgomery County 4-H for their programming
  • Montgomery County Partnership for Children for Tree of Hope 2019
  • Montgomery County Partnership for Children for THRIVE - Summer Reading Pals
  • East Middle School for Transforming from a library concept to learning commons at East Middle School
  • Prevent Blindness North Carolina for Star Pupils Montgomery County
  • Communities in Schools of Montgomery County for student support services
  • Trinity Music Academy for Named Scholarship Program 2019
  • Central NC Council, Boy Scouts of America for Montgomery County Scout Reach
  • Children’s Cancer Partners of the Carolinas for Montgomery County Childhood Cancer Safety Net

Matheny thanked the community for its continued support of the Montgomery County Fund. “We are proud to support these nonprofit programs that are so vital to the community,” she said. “We are grateful to the many generous individuals and organizations that have supported our work to inspire philanthropy across our community.”
