Will and Deni McIntyre are international documentary filmmakers and photographers based in Hendersonville, NC. They have traveled throughout seventy-eight countries, preserving everlasting stories of people worldwide. They apply the power of giving through their local nonprofit work. Recently, their production David Holt’s State of Music debuted on public television.

“Eleanor Roosevelt said ‘When you stop making a contribution, you begin to die.’ Well, we’re not ready to die just yet!” the McIntyre’s quipped.  “When we were younger, our contribution to the world was more focused on our professional activities, because we needed validation and we needed to make a living. But, when you outgrow that stage and have time and energy to look around, you discover lots of ways that you can contribute to things you believe in. Sometimes it is money that’s needed, but it can also be time or influence or specific skills that you have to offer.”
CFHC’s Annual Luncheon will also highlight its past fiscal year, honor outgoing Board Directors and recognize the annual Richard C. and Vina L. Sauer Charitable Leadership Award recipient. As the Community Foundation’s highest honor, the Sauer Award celebrates special individuals providing leadership through their personal philanthropic efforts in Henderson County. “A consistent theme throughout our past fiscal year has been personal philanthropic engagement,” stated CFHC President/CEO McCray Benson. “The philanthropic capital that individuals, families and communities build is something to be celebrated. We’re looking forward to sharing these stories and their impact at CFHC’s 2017 Annual Luncheon.”

One of the highlights of the Annual Luncheon will be a presentation by the children involved in CFHC’s My Family in Philanthropy program. My Family in Philanthropy builds a family legacy of giving. The program introduces children to philanthropy, assist families in developing a long-term philanthropic plan and encourages children and adults to donate their time, talent and treasure to local non-profit organizations.
The cost of the Annual Luncheon is $35 per person. The Patron Level is $135 per person. Patrons help sustain the philanthropic resources in our community by supporting Community Foundation of Henderson County.
