The Cannon Foundation Announces Grant Awards

Concord, N.C. — On June 8, 2021, the Board of Directors for The Cannon Foundation approved a total of $1,448,169 in grants across the state to non-profit organizations advancing efforts in higher education, healthcare, human services, and other areas.
 
The Foundation awarded grants to support many issues, including food insecurities, affordable housing, and rural health. In addition, organizations throughout North Carolina received grants that focus on vulnerable populations and communities.
 
“These awards will support the important work that organizations are supporting people and communities throughout the state,” said Bill Cannon, President for the Foundation.
 
Gene Cochrane, Interim Executive Director of the Foundation, stated, “The Foundation’s focus on supporting organizations with grants focusing on infrastructure will be important as the Carolinas emerge from the Covid experience.”
 
Since its inception, The Cannon Foundation has distributed grant awards in excess of $317.5M.
