This year’s nonprofit recipients are:
• $14,000 to Friends of the NC Museum of Natural Sciences for Girls in Science: Future Focus
• $56,800 to JusticeMatters, Inc. for expanding access to legal services to protect women and children in Wake County
• $25,000 to the Raleigh Wake Partnership to End and Prevent Homelessness for coordinated entry and assessment - single women's pilot
Hughes thanked the community for its support of the Women’s Giving Network of Wake County. “These grants are important to our community and our quality of life,” she said. “Critical programs would not be possible without the generosity of many individuals and organizations that have supported the Women’s Giving Network of Wake County.”
About the Women’s Giving Network of Wake County
The Women’s Giving Network of Wake County is a program of the North Carolina Community Foundation, which supports eight local women’s giving circles across the state and the Women’s Fund of North Carolina. The Network is designed to maximize women’s leadership in philanthropy by engaging and educations its membership, increasing charitable contributions and strengthening the Wake County community through the impact of collective giving. In addition to Hughes, leadership includes: Kella Hatcher (immediate past president), Jenny Eury (corresponding secretary), Molly Painter (grants chair), Lee Hayden (education co-chair), Pam Prather (education co-chair), Amy Pirozzolo (membership chair), Holly Ivel (communications chair), Hayden Constance (at-large member), Jesma Reynolds (at-large member) and Virginia Price (at-large member).
