Women’s Giving Network of Wake County awards more than $95,000 in local grants

The members of the Women’s Giving Network of Wake County announce $95,800 in local grant awards, bringing their cumulative grantmaking total to more than $1.1 million, according to Laurie Hughes, network president.

 

This year’s nonprofit recipients are:

•    $14,000 to Friends of the NC Museum of Natural Sciences for Girls in Science: Future Focus
•    $56,800 to JusticeMatters, Inc. for expanding access to legal services to protect women and children in Wake County
•    $25,000 to the Raleigh Wake Partnership to End and Prevent Homelessness for coordinated entry and assessment - single women's pilot

Hughes thanked the community for its support of the Women’s Giving Network of Wake County. “These grants are important to our community and our quality of life,” she said. “Critical programs would not be possible without the generosity of many individuals and organizations that have supported the Women’s Giving Network of Wake County.”

The Women’s Giving Network of Wake County is a program of the North Carolina Community Foundation, which supports eight local women’s giving circles across the state and the Women’s Fund of North Carolina. The Network is designed to maximize women’s leadership in philanthropy by engaging and educations its membership, increasing charitable contributions and strengthening the Wake County community through the impact of collective giving.
