At its recent David Stick Legacy Society Lunch event, the Outer Banks Community Foundation announced the recipients of its fourth quarter grant awards, shining a spotlight on the innovative Sound Minds program by Interfaith Community Outreach (ICO). In collaboration with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the Outer Banks Relief Foundation (OBRF), Sound Minds aims to increase resources for better mental health support in the community.

Rowan Helping Ministries awarded more than $100,000 from Golden Leaf Foundation

The Golden LEAF Board of Directors recently voted to award $113,025 to Rowan Helping Ministries, an existing food bank partner agency, for building construction, a cargo van, and equipment, according to a news release from North Carolina State Senator Carl Ford.

FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES $1.5 MILLION IN SCHOLARSHIPS TO LOCAL STUDENTS

The Winston-Salem Foundation is pleased to announce scholarship totals for the 2023-2024 academic year: more than $1.5 million has been awarded to 643 local students seeking postsecondary education in North Carolina, the Southeast, and beyond. These awards were made possible thanks to donations and to the Foundation’s 150 scholarship endowment funds, which have been established by generous individuals, families, and businesses since 1923.
