Community Foundation of Henderson County Awards $537,000 in Academic Scholarships for 2021-2022 School Year

Hendersonville, N.C., May 6, 2021 – Community Foundation of Henderson County is pleased to announce  their scholarship recipients for the 2021-22 school year. For the upcoming academic year, $537,150 is  being awarded to help advance local students’ higher education. The Foundation awarded 85 new  scholarships totaling $154,825 to 80 local students. For current recipients, 164 renewable scholarship  awards totaling $382,325 were provided.

Grant from SECU Foundation to Help Non-Profit Expand Services for Onslow County Families

RALEIGH, N.C., May 03, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- SECU Foundation recently awarded a $40,000 Mission Development Grant to a local Jacksonville non-profit – One Place, formerly known as Onslow County Partnership for Children. The organization works with community and government groups to improve the lives of children and families by connecting them with high-quality resources for child care, early education, and child abuse prevention and intervention. One Place will use the grant to increase organizational capacity for the development of capital campaign strategies, rebranding, and website redesign to help achieve long-range goals of expanding mental health services for children and building a new facility for their permanent home.
