Anne Sorhagen has joined the North Carolina Community Foundation as a regional director for the southeastern, according to Sally Migliore, director of community leadership.

Leon Levine Foundation commits $1 million to help solve NC foster-care crisis

CHARLOTTE - Charlotte's Leon Levine Foundation has committed $1 million to the Children's Home Society of North Carolina, making one of the largest contributions to its strategic growth campaign. The Children's Home Society offers a wide range of family services, including adoption and foster care, parent education, teen pregnancy prevention and post-adoption support. Founded in 1902, it has placed more than 15,000 children into adoptive homes statewide.

BCBSNC Foundation - Health Care Equipment and Training Grant Cycle

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation is pleased to announce that they will open a new Health Care Equipment and Training Grant cycle for proposals on June 5. These equipment and training grants are one-time, one-year grants (up to $10,000) focusing on projects that improve quality, increase the capacity, or broaden scope of service of safety net providers based on the purchase of equipment or training for staff.

CUMBERLAND COMMUNITY FOUNDATION AWARDS $679,400 in ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS

Caswell Community Foundation gives surprise grant to library; reports $1.2 million awarded in County

A surprise grant of $3,000 was awarded to Caswell Friends of the Library by The Community Foundation of the Dan River at a May 17 luncheon for Caswell County supporters, grant recipients, and potential donors at Caswell Pines Golf Course. The grant is in honor of the Foundation's 20th anniversary and will be used to expand and increase the impact of the children's and teen summer reading program at Gunn Memorial Library for the community's young patrons.

Total helped by $100,000 matching gift in honor of C.B. Crook

May 1, 2017, ALBEMARLE, N.C. - The Stanly County Community Foundation, a regional affiliate of Foundation For The Carolinas, announced it has exceeded its fundraising goal. 

The $123,000 raised will be added to a $100,000 anonymous matching gift made in memory of C.B. Crook for a total of $223,000.
