The Duke Endowment Commits $15 Million to Hurricane Helene Relief Efforts in Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (October 9, 2024) — The Duke Endowment announced today that it is committing $15 million to help meet immediate relief needs in western North Carolina and upstate South Carolina following Hurricane Helene. 

Grants totaling $451,246 Distributed for Regional Hurricane Helene Relief

(October 7, 2024) The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina (CFWNC) approved 21 grants totaling $451,246 from the Emergency and Disaster Response Fund (EDRF) supporting frontline organizations providing relief and recovery services in Western North Carolina.

WNC Bridge Foundation’s Board of Directors has approved an initial $1.5 million in funding to support nonprofits and individuals in their immediate recovery efforts following the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene.
