Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) Receives Golden LEAF Funding To Expand Electrical Apprenticeship High School Courses

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) has received $900,000 in Golden LEAF funding.

The money will be used to expand electrical apprenticeship courses to an additional 99 juniors and seniors at four local high schools – Heidi Trask, Pender, New Hanover, and Ashley.

Black Philanthropy Initiative Announces $2 Million Campaign to Invest in Local Black Communities

The Black Philanthropy Initiative (BPI) has announced a 3-year, $2 million fundraising campaign to significantly increase support to Black communities in Forsyth County. Most of the funds raised will be directed toward BPI’s annual grantmaking programs, with the remaining to its endowment to ensure that grantmaking funding will be available for years to come.

Community Foundation of Henderson County College Announces Scholarships Available for Local Students

Hendersonville, N.C., November 21, 2022 – Community Foundation of Henderson County has announced the opening of their scholarship applications for the 2023-24 academic year.

The Foundation is offering over $600,000 in new and renewable academic scholarships for the upcoming school year through 274 award opportunities for local students. Scholarship applications opened November 1 on the Foundation’s website, cfhcforever.org. Graduating seniors, current college students, and returning adult/non-traditional students are all encouraged to apply.

All scholarship applications must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2022.
