THE WINSTON-SALEM FOUNDATION COMMITTEE ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD MEMBER VIVIAN PÉREZ CHANDLER

1/23/2024

The Winston-Salem Foundation welcomes Vivian Pérez Chandler to The Winston-Salem Foundation Committee, the Foundation’s primary governing body.

Vivian is executive director of the Asset Building Coalition of Forsyth County. She is also founder and CEO of Perez Chandler Communications and Consulting, supporting organizations and community colleges’ work with the Latinx, undocumented, and DACAmented communities. She is a Guatemalan native and former undocumented and DACAmented individual. Vivian serves as a commissioner for the Housing Authority of Winston-Salem and as a board member for Twin City Development Foundation. Previous board service includes Governor’s Advisory Council on Hispanic/Latino Affairs, Love Out Loud, and others.

The Foundation is most appreciative of the leadership of Oscar Santos who rotated off the
Committee in December, as well as the five-year board service of Jeff Lindsay, who accepted new employment in Chapel Hill, NC.

The Winston-Salem Foundation strengthens Forsyth County by inspiring giving and linking
resources to action. For more than 100 years, the Foundation has partnered with generous
community members to build a better future by providing grants and scholarships to nonprofits, students, and educators. The Foundation is also investing significant resources in advancing equity in education and building an inclusive economy to ensure that Winston-Salem can become a place where race no longer predicts life outcomes. The Foundation ended 2023 with almost $660 million in assets and more than $82 million in total grantmaking. Learn more at wsfoundation.org.
