Hendersonville, N.C., January 5, 2019 – Community Foundation of Henderson County (CFHC) is excited to celebrate its 37th birthday; 37 years helping people that care make lasting contributions to causes that matter and this past fiscal year was no exception. 
 

 
More than $3.5 million in grants and scholarships were awarded in the most recent fiscal year.  The Foundation now hosts more than 550 charitable funds and trusts, with more than $108 million in assets, 95% of which are permanently endowed. 

On March 4, 2019, CFHC is looking forward to the 14th year of Vintage Carolina, celebrating our community’s Heroes of Hope at this year’s gala at Hendersonville Country Club.  Guests vying for a chance to win admission for two, have until January 19th to submit their scavenger hunt answers.  All of the details (and clues!) are available on the Foundation’s website: www.cfhcforever.org

During this year’s gala, the Foundation is looking forward to honoring the late Dot Marlow, our “Founding Lady,” by awarding the first Dot Marlow Philanthropic Catalyst Award.  The deadline to submit nominations is 5 pm Tuesday, January 15.  Nominees for the award must be living residents of Henderson County.  Committees, corporations and organizations are not eligible.  Detailed information and the nomination form may be found at www.CFHCforever.org or by calling Senior Program Officer, Lee Henderson-Hill at 828-697-6224.

Additionally, it is scholarship time at Community Foundation of Henderson County.  106 new scholarship awards for the 2019-2020 academic year are available.  Scholarship opportunities are primarily available for graduating or recently graduated seniors attending, public, private or homeschool in Henderson, Transylvania, Polk Counties.  The wide range of scholarships available seek to support students with a variety of socio-economic backgrounds, achievements and higher education goals.  To learn more and apply about CFHC scholarships, visit www.CFHCforever.org/scholarshipsAll scholarship applications must be submitted no later than 5 pm on Thursday, January 31.
