Brunswick County Community Foundation awards more than $4,600 in local grants

The board of advisors of the Brunswick County Community Foundation announces $4,630 in local awards from its community grantmaking fund, according to Barbara Patten, board president.

 

This year the board will grant:

  • $630 to Communities in Schools of Brunswick County, Inc. for the Action for Success Dropout Prevention program

  • $1,000 to the Community Counseling Center for the Meeting the Need for Mental Health Care program

  • $1,000 to the Diaper Bank of NC Lower Cape Fear Branch for the Outcome Based Diaper Distribution Wrapping Supplies program

  • $1,000 to Lump to Laughter for the Angel Fund Home Preservation program for single-parent families affected by breast cancer

  • $1,000 to the Southport-Oak Island Interchurch Fellowship for the Feeding the Hungry in Southport and Oak Island program

 
This year, awards were granted at the August BCCF board meeting. Attending the meeting were representatives from the Community Counseling Center, Communities in Schools, Diaper Bank of NC Lower Cape Fear, Southport-Oak Island Interchurch Fellowship and Lump to Laughter.
Patten thanked the community for its support of the Brunswick County Community Foundation. “We are proud to support these nonprofit programs that are so important to our community,” she said. “We are grateful to the many generous individuals and organizations that have supported the Brunswick County Community Fund and our work to inspire philanthropy across our community.”
