Greensboro - Cone Health Foundation today announced the commitment of $4,722,296 in grants to thirty-two different Greensboro-area nonprofit organizations, some of which received more than one monetary grant and others of which received technical assistance with no monetary grant.

Winston-Salem, NC – For the past 13 years, members of The Women’s Fund of Winston-Salem have worked together to make a difference in the lives of women and girls in our community. Through the power of collective giving, members of The Women’s Fund seek to support local programs that address the social issues affecting the economic security of women and girls in Forsyth County. Over the past 11 years, the Fund has awarded over $1.4 million in grants — to support our vision that women and girls of all background have equal opportunities, and the skills and resources to be independent, self-sufficient and contributing members of the community.

The Next Generation Fund of the Community Foundation of Gaston County hosted a successful event collecting donations for BackPack Weekend Food Program (BWFP) on Friday, October 26th. Over 100 Next Gen donors attended the “Fall Fête” benefitting the Gaston County nonprofit- a party with a purpose! The event took place in the home of Caroline and Lewis Efird in Gastonia, NC.

Fayetteville, NC, November 1, 2017 – Cumberland Community Foundation gathered with volunteers and endowment founders to announce a new scholarship program, grants, and the winner of the Mary Lynn McCree Bryan Leadership Award. WILSON, N.C. – Healthcare Foundation of Wilson has approved $22 million in funding for a strategic initiative to create a new after-school program. The site of the programming will be in a central location, and the after-school experiences will be focused on making a positive impact in the lives of middle school students in Wilson. The grant includes the planning and building of a place and space for youth as well as transportation support to increase access to activities and quality programs, which will be designed to enrich participants physically, emotionally and academically during out-of-school time.
