The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro (CFGG) is a public charity serving the greater Greensboro area in North Carolina. Under the direction of a volunteer board of community leaders the Foundation receives charitable funds from donors, invests those funds, distributes funds to charitable causes and provides services and grants to nonprofit agencies and the community.

Position Summary:
The Database & Donor Engagement Assistant will join our team to ensure accurate data entry and serve as an important point of contact for donors and community members. This individual will report to the Senior Director of Donor Engagement. This individual appreciates and understands the value of a CRM system and quality data. This position will play a critical role in advancing our mission and organizational goals.
 
Job description:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Process financial gifts on behalf of the Development team and ensure accurate allocation to funds while maintaining donor confidentiality; efficient and accurate pledge and gift processing including event income, gifts of cash, stock, credit card payments, ACH, or other gifts.
  • Track portfolio activity, communication, and progress in current CRM
  • Develop reports, charts, and data for donors-annual philanthropic reviews.
  • Act as a member of the CRM system conversion team
  • Ensures timely pledge reminders and tax acknowledgements and assists in the timely and accurate mailing of gift acknowledgements, pledge commitment reminders, and other donor and fundholder correspondence
  • Updates and maintains donor and fundholder records
  • Assists in the timely and accurate mailing of gift acknowledgements, pledge commitment reminders, and other donor and fundholder correspondence
  • Run queries, export information, and prepare reports or lists for events, mailings, proposals, presentations, and other fundraising activities
  • Works closely with the Women to Women lead staff to assist with luncheon including invoices, table assignments, capturing contact information and attending the event.
  • Provide warm welcome to visitors and guests of the Community Foundation
  • Serve as primary receptionist for the entire CFGG staff
  • Assure tidy and inviting reception area
  • Assists in opening and closing the office suite daily in accordance with Opening/Closing policy
  • Coordinates reservations for conference rooms for inside and outside groups, reservations for community rooms, Zoom meetings, and other shared spaces for Donor Engagement.
  • Manage expenses for members of the team as needed
  • Collaborate regularly with fellow team members to ensure successful execution of engagement initiatives to grow donor support
  • Responsibilities require expertise in database software and MS Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word), excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Serves as a member of Tech Team and Administrative team (A-Team)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
 
Required:
  • Bachelors or Associates Degree
  • Experience in utilizing data management system
  • At least two years of progressively more responsible work experience
  • Must be detail oriented with high level of time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build, develop, and foster relationships internally and externally
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, in addition to excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate, manage, and successfully complete multiple tasks
  • Sound judgment, initiative, and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to be self-directed and contribute to team environment; sense of humor and positive attitude
  • Interpersonal, organizational, time management, leadership and development skills
  • An ongoing commitment to training in both areas of soft skills and technical skills to maintain current skills and knowledge
  • Valid NC driver’s license
 
 
 
 
Preferred:
  • Knowledge of CRM Databases
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit operations
  • Working knowledge of community foundations and an understanding of charitable giving opportunities and strategies
